We often see controllable pitch propellers together with jet nozzles in the offshore industry and fishing sectors. These installations can generate high propulsion even at low speeds.

Especially for these ships, AMW Marine has assembled and delivered many controllable pitch propellers and gear units. The blades of the controllable pitch propeller can be (dis)assembled in the jet nozzle.

In addition, the gear units are usually fitted with sleeve bearings (hydrodynamic lubrication). This design guarantees an unlimited lifespan. For these ships, AMW also supplies Becker (flap) rudders. In the middle of 2005, AMW started a joint venture with Becker Marine for the BeNeLux market.

The large power of these ships means that they are often equipped with a central cooling system.
APV plate heat exchangers, with a spacious plate distance, in combination with low water speeds, are ideal for combating dirt and wear and tear.

In addition, the gear units can be fitted with a built-up PTO, a so-called extra power take off.
Dredgers are often fitted with Renk dredging and jet pump gear units in combination with patented curved-tooth gear couplings. These gear units are especially designed for these specific operating conditions. AMW makes calculations without obligation to advise you on the optimum type.
