AMW Marine is a renowned supplier of ship propellers for inland shipping and small coastal shipping. To start with, we represented Ostermann propellers in Cologne. The inland shipping sector places high demands on propellers. A propeller must, for example, convert considerable power into propulsion with a high efficiency and comfort. All this with a relatively small propeller diameter. Moreover, no cavitation and vibrations may occur.

To satisfy these demands, we give a lot of attention to the pitch. This is variable and low on the blade tops. The result is a low vibration level towards the skin of the ship.

Moreover, the result depends on the blade surface, the blade form, the profiles and the number of blades. For this reason, we furnish the propeller with a so-called skew (Sabel model). This reduces the vibration level by another 50%. Moreover, we choose a blade thickness with a large reserve. This means that the working stress is never exceeded in the CuAlNi-material.
